Times like these, I'm a fan of the open sort of ending that suggests continued storyline movement past the page. As I said before, you go so far out of your way to assure yourself you're not alone. This is a survivalist story through and through. The town itself is just beyond that curve and I don't know what's rmain for us.
It does recap anything you need to know for this one. More evidence of fire, sending faint gray curls of smoke into the air, and overgrown lawns. Her right ankle is crushed, her foot bent outward. Downed telephone p.
Her right ankle is crushed, her foot bent outward. She drags it across the pavement slowly, coming to a stop at the passenger's side. Her lips are dry as dust, pale, and cracked. Her milky-white irises surround pinprick pupils and her skin is lost of its color, save for the angry dark veins branching across the thinnest parts of it. A chunk of her honey-blond hair has been ripped away, scalp with it, an ugly black crust in its wake.
The others don't mess with the supernatural, but they are just as artfully written, making way for so much space: an out-of-the-way golf course. I try not to think about how broken she sounds. The trees thin. Courtney Summers is everything.
