This is a powerful deck in terms of the imagery. Very visceral. Very childish. Very LOLCats. Part of it was, I think, that it triggered the Thoth deck without me realizing it. I had a similar initial reaction to the Thoth deck which was my very first deck actually.

Sun and Moon Tarot Deck Walkthrough and Review

By playfully incorporating mythology and astrology, Vanessa Decort brings unique interpretations to traditional tarot, presenting a deck that is both insightful and accessible. Major Arcana cards show the associated Hebrew letter in the artwork.

Sun and Moon Tarot

I would recommend this deck to readers who already mkon knowledge of a more classic deck, and readers who would like to gain more diverse insight into tarot through multi-cultural images and symbolism. Tarot is a book of spiritual wisdom in picture form that tells the story of all human experience. Thx God. I find myself enjoying immensely the serenity of the empty spaces in these cards.

In some cases it is hard to see how the Crowley keyword fits with the image. Games will make the "Sun and Moon Tarot in a Tin" Thank you for this review, it's one of my favorite new decks I have discovered in awhile. In fact, Arwen.

This deck has images that seem like they are drawn for stories and imaginative journeys, and is really an awesome and beautiful deck. Although I am personally a big fan of Rider-Waite-Smith styled decks, I found myself liking the imagery on this deck because I felt as if these images were pretty familiar to me! The cards are a decent size to hold and shuffle and I found no difficulty even when I shuffled them for the first time around. The backs of the decks are reversible, allowing for easy use for readings. Each of the cards except for the Aces and the Court cards have a keyword printed on the top. And the card has a matte effect, which I quite like. Each of the descriptions cover the symbolic meanings of the different elements in the images.

This is a fairly new development from U. The Pips numbered cards show the Thoth keyword at the top of the card, and the card number and suj at the bottom? And the chariots seem more Kingly to me. It also includes a diversity of skin colors and hair types which I also feel is important. The cards have a very light sheen to them, but are mostly matte.

The images are stunning in their simplicity. Surprisingly, the most obvious and quirky fact about the deck the people have no facial detailing is something I have found I don't even notice when reading with the deck. I was looking forward to the publication of this deck for awhile, and was definitely not disappointed when I was finally able to hold a copy in my hands. The font is an attractive one, and there are keywords on the Minors with the exception of the Aces and Courts. The cards have a very light sheen to them, but are mostly matte, which I really like. I know some tarot readers love the new card stock, but I am not one of them.

Here we see the Wands Queen jauntily dancing with a leopard, holding a burning wand while surrounded by flames - all under a starry night sky. The Suit of Swords found their images with a blue sky and lots of clouds in the background. Astrological association with Planets and Signs for the Majors and the Astrological Positions of the Planets in Signs for the Minors are also included within the descriptions. Reading with the Sun and Moon Tarot deck was like finding myself flowing right into these pictures and playing along with the people in the pictures.

Another recurring theme in this deck is the presence of Butterflies - which the artist describes in the LWB as the representations of Transformation. An example of the Major Arcana is as follows: 0 The Fool Linked with Uranus, ecstasy without fear. I hate spam as much as you do! This deck takes booo almost whimsical look at what has traditionally been one of the more serious Tarot decks out there.

This artwork speaks. I am not an aficionado of the Thoth deck, mostly because it features an interracial couple embracing. I had to put this deck down taroot come back to it? The Lovers above is another favorite, but the Princess of Wands is a very powerful image for me.
