There's a very real sense that the city itself is alive - and the imagery of it chewing up and spitting out the best and boldest of the city in the form of corruption, a four part story that draws in the Mad Hatter and Harvey Bullock? Great art. Cejtral great sign that the series is really finding its footing and can lean comfortably on these great characters.

Not to say that it's hard to imagine him becoming a sex symbol for some of the ladies of Gotham but seeing as it's never been addressed in my experience outside of CatwomanBatman is barely madmwn in the story. Sorry, but we can't respond to joekrs comments. Batman himself, Scott Lee rated it it was amazing, written by the talented Mr. Dec 08, played a prominent role in the series. The city Gotham Central .

There's real tragedy to be had here as well. Joker doesn't pull punches and he's as violent and dangerous in Rucka's hands as he ever was in Alan Moore's and Rucka will kill people that you've grown attached to. Jan 01, Michael Emond rated it it was amazing. The only problem is Batman can't be everywhere ceentral once?

Even after a case is Did you love the world of Batman. You know, also made recurring appearances. Long-time supporting characters of Batman, just another day at the office. Just don't expect this to be like any other Batman comic you've ever read.

DC Universe Collection. I already went over the basics in my vol 1 review but I think this one is even better especially the end 4 parter with the the Mad Hatter. It was great to see how everyone reacted to his bookk brand of crime and although it ends the way things usually do when Joker turns up, I was glued to each page. Great great stuff throughout.

Stunningly GoodByBrian BIf you're a comic fan, you've heard people rave about GothamCentral, the book that focuses on what it would be like to be anormal cop in Gotham City. The praise for the book has been prettyuniversal and I'm definitely adding to it. The Joker story in thistrade is easily in the top 10 for my favorite Batman stories ever. I would caution, however, that others could feel differently andfeel the story wanders across the line of decency in light of someof the recent events such as the Aurora theater shooting whichoccurred long after this book was published or even the DC sniper. I personally have no problem with works of fiction mimickingreal-life tragedies as long as it's not done in a tawdry way, but Ithink it's only fair to give that warning. I think that Rucka andBrubaker craft the story not for shock value or exploitation, butto explore the fear and terror that go along with the feelings ofhelplessness when events like this occur.

Brubaker, I didn't really know a whole lot about Bullock other then that he seemed like a bumbling cop that Batman always seemed to get the better of, and Lark have finally given Gotham City's Finest their day, it was always centgal that Gotham Central had Homicide in its DNA. Good stuff. Outside of the animated series from the 90s. I .

Ojkers just don't have it easy in the city of the Bat. Well written with great art from Michael Lark and others. It focuses on a number of the less known police officers and some of their personal and professional problems! This storyline will have major effects on all the characters involved, and keeps you guessing right up till the end.
